Hi guys, I'm sure most of you have more than 2 pipes here. I'm curious, do you guys ever had this situation where you are indecisive of choosing which pipe you wanna smoke today?
Sometimes, I have ?. Just only, I was in the middle of "hmmm.... which one I wanna start with today? ?" I wanted to smoke my meer, but thinking, I just had it more than 2 rounds yesterday, maybe change. Maybe cob? But my favorite cob bowl is big, I don't wanna smoke for 1 hour plus. Maybe mini briar pipe? My mini briar is just nice for 30 mins, but maybe because it's too small, it seems the ember dies off towards the end.
So, in the end, I just filled half of my favorite cob and started with it ?
Yeah sometimes I'll pack the pipe I plan on smoking the next day, and then pack a different one. I don't like having options. But yet I keep acquiring more....options.

First, I start with the tobacco. That usually narrows down the field of pipe choices. From there, I pick a pipe that is best suited for my mood, quantity I want to smoke and my memory of how the pipe smokes the chosen tobacco.

There are different nuances that each pipe brings to the table with the same tobacco in it and my choice is based on that. Pretty simple really. I rarely smoke any of my high-end pipes for daily smoking because, well, just because.. I keep them in wall cabinets in my house and keep the daily runners in the man-cave where I smoke. That makes the less expensive ones more accessible so they get much more use. puffy

Today I smoked a Giubileo d'Oro 315KS (Prince) with C&D Old Joe Krantz blue. It was perfect. Tonight, it will be Stonehaven in a Rainer Barbi.

Why doesn’t someone invent a system like geranimals (the freaky 1970s kids clothing design where you match the critters so the clothes matched without leaving it to the highly dubious judgment of the kids).

Match the pipe with an ephto to the tobacco with an ephto; a pipe with the ring neck whooping llama with the corresponding tobacco; the weasel pipe with weasel flavor tobacco, etc.

Oh man, I am such a genius! Why didn’t I think of this sooner??!! ??

I have about 7 pipes in my rotation and I try to give them all some love. I have some that are dedicated to a certain category of tobacco so probably what blend in wanting to smoke narrows the field for me. I have one Ser Jacopo calabash that I only smoke Christmas Cheer or 4Oth anniversary in. I have one SJ prince that I only smoke Sun Bear in. Other than those situations I just grab one that I’m in the mood to smoke. I like smoking all of my pipes so usually not too much effort to pick one?

I simply choose the pipe that has rested the longest and is therefore the driest. Since I only smoke in cobs. Whether to smoke English blends or Virginias. Now I have a strange feeling, because of my wife's covid, and other worries. And I am more disoriented when it comes to choosing a tobacco, and even I do not have the tranquility and calm that I had, since the psychological and economic storm arrived. I imagine that many will identify with this story, which is already a real nightmare. With respect to several years already living with the damned covid. No politician dies of stress, hunger, or depression, at least in Spain. While the population does its best to pay its house rent and fill up the damn gas tank of its old car to be able to go to work.

Thank you dear friend. I'm glad your wife is doing well too. Yes, garlic is a food that I use a lot, especially when I make tomato and olive oil salad, I add fresh garlic. They say it is a very healthy super food for the body. Best regards my friend and take care of yourself.

My first bowl of the day I started a bit late as I slept till 10 am. I had no reason to get up earlier.
I got my coffee going and then did the search for what tobacco I wanted. I landed on a tin of 2005 Mac Baren Navy Flake. It was quite tasty, burned nicely, an all around tasty smoke that fits one of my Rad Davis Billiards to perfection.
I got lucky that when my daughter was checking my inventory, I found a 5 pack of these tasty tins. I had totally forgotten this 2005 5 pack.

I then grabbed a tin of 2013 Capstan Blue Flake and smoked it in one of my trusty Jack Howell Dublins. The size of the flake just fits perfectly in a group 4-group 5 bowl. I love it when a flake takes a perfectly folded flake.
