LOL...easy for me...just starting with one pipe and one tobacco.

Tho I am curious about bowl shapes/sizes matching to a particular tobacco blend.

Since I smoke all three of my blends every day and have dedicated several pipes to each blend, I decide based on which tobacco I want and then select a dedicated pipe. So, I do both! First, the tobacco, and then the dedicated pipe of several choices.

I'm with you bigboi. Depends on what my taste buds are saying that day.

since my pipes are dedicated only to blend types on the broader scale, it usually plays out as, "what type of tobacco do I want" (IE: sweeter aro, calm VA/VAPER, English) then select a pipe based on that then decide which baccy specifically I want. The only exception is with Peterson Irish Oak, when I want that I have but one pipe I smoke it in and thats the only thing I smoke in that pipe.

For me it depends on the day. Some days I want to smoke a particular pipe and I'll match a tobacco with it. Other days I want to smoke a particular tobacco so then I'll match the pipe to it. It just varies for me.

I seem to always go with what tobacco I am wanting to smoke at that time & then just pick what pipe best fits that particular blend . Always been doing it this way cause I find myself first desiring a certain tobacco blend so second comes which pipe I will use to smoke it.

I generally open my day with a bowl of early morning pipe, but after that, it all depends on my mood as to whether I pick the pipe or the tobacco first. I've never settled on a specific order.

Sometimes the pipe, sometimes the tobacco.
I've accumulated enough pipes that there's plenty to choose from with either approach.

I'd say sixty percent of the time, I start with the pipe and match the tobacco to it. But if I have an

hankering for a particular tobacco, I'll match it to the pipe. Now and then, I'll start out with the pipe,

but when I choose the tobacco, I'll choose a different pipe. That's as indecisive as I get, and I don't do

it often. I'm not sensitive to ghosting, although I will occasionally choose particular pipes for setting

off an aromatic or an English blend particularly well. But I rarely if every think, I can't do that tobacco

in this pipe. I just do it, and hope for the best. Seems like my English blends can master any residual

aromatic I smoke.

I find that most of the time I pick the tobacco and then pair it with a pipe. Lately since I have got my NASPC S. E. Thile pipe I am looking to smoke it whenever I can since it is such a great smoker.

90% of the time, I'll pick the tobacco and then decide what pipe that I'm going to smoke it in but every once in a while, I'll choose a neglected but loved pipe and try to match it with something that I think will smoke well in it.

Mine differs greatly. Sometimes there's a blend I really want to have when I wake up and sometimes there's a pipe that I really want to smoke when I wake up. Lately I've been trying to cut down on my open tins and ziplock bag samples so I've pretty much been sticking to one blend until I finish it.

What Uber said.
Most of the time I pick the tobacco first, but there are occasions when I really want to smoke a certain pipe, in which case, I choose tobaccos that smoke very well in it.
