If people are justly celebrated to earn their celebrity, and many many aren't, then it means they have found their niche in life. They don't need to graduate to something else. They just need to continue to perfect their own trade or craft. All this wrenching around between one big-time success to another is suspect. Reagan did it successfully, but only after decades of being spokesperson for GE and governor of California.
