For what it is worth, I had a bad case of PAD early on and made some poor decisions. If you're having trouble deciding, I would bet that these pipes aren't the "one".
It was especially tough for me because frankly, I like almost *all* pipes in one way or another, but with my budget, I had to limit my choices to my absolute, all-time favorites.
I would say to enjoy the hunt, checking ebay and SmokingPipes, Cup O Joes, etc etc because sure enough, as soon as you buy one, the pipe of your dreams will suddenly show up and you'll have no money to buy it.
I think when you see the "one", you'll have no hesitation. :puffy:

gunnar, I personally would never buy a pipe that was described as over reamed. It could be that it was done so much that you are at risk for a burnout. It is so subjective, one person looking at it will say it could be fine, another might say it will definitely burn out, you just don't know what you are getting.
If you want a pipe that is a smoking machine I would recommend looking at this. http://www.mkelaw-pipes.com/html/pipee1714.html
It is an older Caminetto and I have the exact same one. It smokes as good as any 500.00 plus pipe I have ever owned. I have had mine for a dozen years and I still smoke it regularly. It hangs so comfortably you don't even know it is there, and it only weighs 56 or so grams.
