It seems like there was not a solution to being able to purchase this online. I've heard it might be able to be found in TN. Anybody know of that?

Have looked high and low, but there are a LOT of rural gas stations in Tennessee that sell tobacco. Found Mammoth Cave in one shop, no Cotton Boll, yet. My job takes me all over rural middle Tennessee, so it's just a matter of time. If I find some, I'll buy a carton and post some up for sale here.

I've smoked some strong blends, like Tambolaka, the Indonesian air-cured burley, but Cotton Boll sounds a little too rigorous, from cosmic's account. Why is the name "misspelled"? Cotton bowl, whether the plant or the football game, is usually spelled bowl. Or is it regional?

Strictly speaking, a Cotton Boll is the pod on a cotton plant before it bursts open to reveal the actual cotton fiber.

Actually, the raw puff of cotton bloom on the plant is called a “boll”. Not bowl or ball.

It is sold through a local Tennessee company, and is regional. Look for “cotton boll twist chewing tobacco” and you’ll find it on Native American distribution websites. But, because it is also labelled as a chewing tobacco, they will not sell to many states.

The boll is the pod from which you harvest cotton fibers

rustica has a very unique scent and taste that lingers. Long story short if you use rustica nasal snuff (which is quite good) you'll have a moment of oh I grabbed some ladies underwear instead of a facemask.

Sort of floral and sweet. The only Rustica I'm aware of snuffing was Toque's Whiskey and Honey

I'm sorry it has taken me into my eighth decade to learn the difference between the Cotton Bowl and a cotton boll, but better late than never. Thanks gents. I'm pleased to know this. The member here, Brad, explained to me that sugar cane is planted by laying the stalks end to end on the row, and the new shoots grow and root out of that. I guess I thought they sprung up on their root end and kept growing. Live and learn.

that's the whiskey. Great snuff by the way. But some Indian snuffs use rustica and lighter scents. The scent is like burly with more of a barnyard quality. Very earthy poopy kind of smell. But after that wears off there is a lady parts scent. And not kind of but very precisely the same. And if Cotton Boll doesn't have that I'd doubt it's rustica. Though there are some very strong strains of burly and some other commercial leafs that are nearly rustica strength.

With a long summer, does the smell progress from poop to lady parts, and then right up to belly button lint?

While comparing it to “lady parts” makes me laugh…. If your only experience with rustica is the MacBaren’s blend, then your not getting a pure rustica experience. The rustica I grow, tastes exactly like Cotton Boll.
no several experiences with and never had the MacBaren's blend. Had it mainly in smokeless tobaccos. Dips and snuffs and some cigarettes too. Also other peoples home grown. And the thing is that quality of it can't really be described as anything else.

Hmmmm. I've smoked the Mac Baren Rustica and found it off-putting. I didn't get any notes of salty candy or coins in milk.

oh just wanted to make sure I was clear. That it may or may not have rustica. But if I could get a hold of a twist of the stuff, it would be pretty easy to say if it had rustica or not.

Yeah but that uses Rustica as a component not as a main base. If you ever get to smoke something that is straight rustica or snuff or chaw it the flavor profile is unique.
