briarpipeboiler,

I spent 2.5 years E.E.'ing industrial process control systems. (The control panel designs) I sat alongside all the Mechies busy at vaguely similar sketches. Complimentary, but mutually exclusive disciplines.
Your diagram brought all that back across 34 years.

I've always wanted, and still want to do something culinary. But when I was four or five I used to say "When I'm president I'm going to make smoking illegal". Things have definitely changed since then

From the time I was 10 I wanted to be a Catholic Preist, then I went to the seminary and decided that I didn't belong there. Now I am working toward one of three things, Law School, teaching, or Business school. I can see my self in any of these fields, but I just can't decided which one.

Here's my take on the subject.
If You didn't attain the status of your pre-conceived notion as a child, guess what; it doesn't
mean a damned thing.
If you didn't set early parameters for your notion of future lifestyle, ........means nothing.
If you did become what you expected, but found that vocation nothing like you expected, then
.........you grew up.
If you are presently within your vocation quest, stay focused.
If you are everything you wanted to be and find it all that you expected, then congratulations
Green-Lantern! Keep that power-ring charged.

Presbyterian preacher.

Reason----------------- Invited to 2 meals of Fried chicken on Sunday

and one on Wednesday.

Than a Hobo----------camping out every night.
Than a Wise guy --------- Booze - women---guns------

That did not happen ---wanted to run first before fighting and

can not hit the side of a barn with a handgun.
But turned out to be a guy just getting by and making a killing.

To add more to my previous statements that were geared toward thread responders:
I extend a thank you to anybody out there (be you doctor, fireman, clergyman, etc) that are saving lives/souls. No matter how you got there; be it longtime aspiration, parental prodding, or just fell into it.............. keep up the good work!
(All this inspiration; didn't know I had it in me!)

"Helicopter pilot, definitely what I wanted to do, dont even care what kind, always wanted to fly them"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Passengered in a Bell. The transparent bubble front dragonfly shape as seen on MASH. After the initial up-and-forward lurch off the ground, there was no gut-sensation of movement at all. Going forward 60mph at higher altitude, the ground scenery did not appear to move at all. The wide-open bubble sides did make me check the safety belt. All the rest was that deafening rotor noise. No complaints; would have been scary if that had suddenly ceased. Overall, it was very different than I expected.

You guys are making me remember a lot.

"I don't care If you chose to dig ditches for a living. Just be the best damn ditch digger you can be".
I've told both my kids something similiar, only I say, "If ya wanna pump gas, then be the best one at it!"
