The walls don't look thin to me, but there are obviously pipes out there with thicker walls, so maybe you're just used to thicker wall pipes. Like others have said, once you build up some cake it should smoke better. Until you build up the cake just go slow.

When I have a broken or bad pipe, I just hang on to them. Some I put on my shelf for display, and others I just put away.

I would never throw this out, but I’ve reserved it as a conversation piece.

I got that middle thirties Kaywoodie Drinkless about 15 years ago and it was black and filthy and caked up almost solid.

Over the years I’ve soaked it in toothpaste and scrubbed it several times, gave it the salt and Everclear treatment at least three times, and polished and loved on it until it looks pretty nice for a worn out pipe.

It’s worn out.

It’s not a bad smoker but it’s bland and doesn’t have any zing or zest to it. I’ve drawn all the tars out, cleaned it up, and it was smoked one too many thousand times to be a good smoker.
