Police are not an ethnic demographic. They are a job that people choose to take on. And a large percentage of the people who choose to do so are violent. Your comparison is so logically flawed that you should try better.
Studies show that %40 percent of police households experience domestic violence.
Ok, I took easy way out.
So here's a not so interesting fact. Occupation that causes most child abuse is teacher/headteacher. Why? Teachers are with kids as an occupation. Close proximity. Emotional connection against policy..
Police officers are surrounded by violence.
So I looked up domestic violence by occupation. NHL player, NFL players, MMA fighter, customer service workers.. Nurses. Nurses were 4th highest. Above the athletes. So you would say nurses choose their occupation due to their violent personalities?
I bet most police officers choose that occupation since that's what their family has done for generations. Some actually thought they were gonna serve and protect. Stress mounts up, things go wrong. Now they are monsters. So we are going to let mass shooters shoot up school, mass mob from emptying out stores.. If not police, who's going to stop them? Mental Health Workers? I hope they are not those violent nurses.
It seems that 40% number has been going around for some time. I'm not finding any new studies by occupation.
