The earliest I’ve ever had a cigar has been late morning/lunch time and then it’s been something like a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No2 or something equally mild. Maybe one day I’ll try a big bold smoke first thing!!!!!!
But for now I’ll stick with a sweet aromatic and strong coffee ?
At least 5 yr aged GLP Chelsea Morning. It's what I smoke every morning with my coffee. Why? because it tastes perfect to me in a particular pipe I own. But that's me. You will learn quickly that every pipe smoker has their own favorite pipes and tobaccos, and it has nothing to do with anything other than that is what tastes and smokes best for THEM. People rave about this tobacco or that, this pipe maker or that. But in the end, you will find what's best for YOU. And that's what you'll smoke. And just as importantly you don't owe any explanation to anyone on why that's the case. Cheers!
I don't smoke in the morning. Have nothing against the idea but I just don't.
I usually take my coffee black too and I find Va/Pers and Aromatics to pair best with them.

I really do hate to be cliche, but for the longest time I smoked Early Morning Pipe in the morning with my coffee. I really was the perfect way to wake up my palate and prepare myself for the day. I think it was especially nice during the summer and fall. If I want something sweeter with my coffee I'll probably smoke PS41 cube cut. Another great blend is Chelsea Morning. It's equally delicious as EMP, but it has a bit too much going on for me in the morning.
Another vote for EMP in the morning.I like it in a cob with a Folgers coffee bag or something nice in a caffetaire.

Mostly Virginia or a Vaper but sometimes it's OJK in a pipe sized to last the 40 minute drive.
C&D Pegasus because it goes great with coffee and it has enough nicotine to get my heart started.
I've been seeing so many people talk about Pegasus recently. It sounds like it would go great with a cup of coffee in the morning. I'll have to get some.
I'm usually at my desk between 5:30 and 6:00 on weekdays so I only enjoy a pipe with coffee on the weekends. I typically smoke SWR in a Grand Duke with Peet's French roast served black.
Black coffee with an aromatic blend from Wilke or Watch City usually. I also like KBV Burley Morning Pipe. I can’t have a tobacco with too heavy nicotine first thing in the AM.
Coffee I always go with either black Maxwell House or Chock Full o Nuts as long as it is a medium Colombian blend. Anything lighter than that I can’t taste it and anything darker reeks havoc on my acid reflux.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that while the EMP match is good it doesn’t taste like EMP. What are your thoughts?
What he said! Even EMP I find too sweet at times so I add some C&D Izmir to the jar also makes it go further.
