This question is only for those that suffer chronic tongue-bite like I do; I have 4 years of pipe smoking experience, this is not a technique related problem, so don't dare to tell me to smoke slower as I already smoke at a snail's pace and have my technique and packing down pretty well :) This question is for those who found certain blends that have zero or almost no bite that have big bite issues, I'm thinking it might be a chemical sensitivity thing. I have tried some 70 blends and only a few do not bite me significantly, I'm hoping to find a couple more, thanks guys!
My zero-to-little-bite list:

Frog Morton Original

Frog Morton Cellar

Penzance

CAO Moontrance

Sutliff Molto Dulce

Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

Samuel Gawith Golden Glow

Middle Earth Series Ruins of Isenguard

MES Old Toby combined with Treebeard 50/50

Boswells Christmass Cookie
Okay that is a bit more than I thought... Lets see what you come up with :) Out of this list, only Frog Morton Original/Cellar & Moontrance are zero bite, everything else are very low bite.

No-Bite DeLite bites me more than any of their blends. Very nice flavor though...

Christmas Cookie is very similar to the way a straight Virginia tastes without the bite. I greatly prefer just having the Virginia though if we are talking about FVF :)

SG navy isn't biting me. It's hard to say right now because my tongue is on the edge and I'm working hard at no bite.

In aros, Lanes LL-7 and Altadis Queen Anne's Revenge. In English blends,

Altadis Fox and Hound, and Nat Sherman's 536. Many others, but these

come to mind immediately. Nearly all Virginias nip a little, but if you slow

down, many won't.

What about SG best brown flake, get no bite from that at all. Also Carter Hall for me is no bite, I have a sensitive tongue and if it's a bit off but I want a bowl that's what I reach for.

I concur with all of these except Double Eagle, which I have never smoked. Topping the last is Prince Albert and ive Brothers.

GLP Meridian is probably in your wheelhouse as far as flavor. Doesn't bite me, but I'm not very sensitive to biting, at least from latakia blends.

I have 40 years of pipe smoking experience and I'm baffled that you list Penzance and Molto Dolce as being on your no-bite list. They're like on opposite sides of the spectrum in every way.

I have odd tastes shutter :) I generally don't like English blends but FM and Penzance makes the cut. These days I've just been smoking Sugar Barrel mixed with PS Turkish, quite good!

I should mention that I don't suffer from tongue bite--or at least not for the past 40 years or so. I learned long ago to sip gently and that seemed to resolve it for me--even with IRC Three Star Blue, a notorious tongue biter that I can smoke all day long.

My principle issue is with Vitamin N. I can go from a pleasant, slight buzz to overload too easily. I'm certain it isn't technique as much as it is a matter of individual tolerance.

Proper technique helped a great deal, I can smoke a legend by MM (almost a toy of a tiny pipe) for almost an hour and a half. I think some people are just very sensitive, which is why I said not to bring up proper technique. I do have your same issue, all my blends don't go above medium strength and I only smoke medium blends in tiny bowls or half a medium pipe's worth unless I am feeling particularly good and able to take it.

So I've been smoking an 11" churchwarden lately and it's really helped with the bite, I can even smoke OGS comfortably now, although not more than every other day.

One that really comes to mind for me is Peterson's Irish Flake. I have smoked it literally damp right out of the tin, and bone dry and all manner of conditions in between. Even had gone as far as trying some heavy puffing ....it just does not bite!
