I grew up with Gold & Platinum on the turntable and Gimme Three Steps (live version) was the obvious banger.

That said, the song that makes it into all my playlists is "T for Texas" off the "One More From the Road" live album.

As far as albums go, Second Helping is a top 5 for me of all time. Legend is extremely underrated, especially for a bunch of throwaways and B-sides. Four Walls of Raiford and Mr. Banker previously mentioned are fantastic.

Deep Cuts:
Things Goin' On
Mississippi Kid
I Know a Little

Being the absolute #1 rock and roll band of all time, bar none.....I cannot pick a favorite song. Nor am I just going to list all of their songs in this thread.
Second only to Ozzy, Lynryd Skynyrd is my second most seen band live. Ive seen every iteration of the band from the late 80s when they got back together, until Gary died a few years ago. Once Gary Rossington died, Skynyrd was gone for me. As far as I know they are completely done touring. But I wouldn't doubt that Johnny Van Zant has something brewing.
Im not sure if Dale Krantz is doing anything now, but she was there right after the plane crash to help keep them together. So she could almost be an original member. If you consider The Rossington Collins Band sorta Lynryd Skynyrd. :)
Well that gives context for the angry face emoji you left on my post!

To you and @brian64 , saying you're not into Skynyrd is like saying you dont like puppies, or ice cream, or a sunny day.
Even though The Supersuckers call themselves "The Greatest Rock And Roll Band In The World", they are incorrect. I do absolutely love The Supersuckers, but Lynryd Skynyrd is just a step above!
If you haven't heard The Supersuckers, do yourself a favor and check them out. They just make me smile. They've been around sinse the 80s, and still playing. :)

Steve Earle with the Super Suckers cover of Before They Make Me Run is a deep cut, hard to find but well worth it. It’s one of my favorite cover songs along with Lucero’s cover of Modern Love.

Long live Eddie Spaghetti!

Gimme Three Steps was the first (band type) song I ever learned the words to.
I fully agree with your whole post, but your deep cuts are ones that will always do it for me.
Gimme Back My Bullets has lifted me through two divorces, getting sober, and one chapter seven😉

This is no lie . . .

Left the house after lunch, start up the Jeep and it's "Gimme Three Steps" on the Classic Vinyl.

Mid-afternoon, escape the office for a bit, start up the Jeep and it's "Free Bird".

All I could think of was this thread.

Something totally forgettable when I came home, obviously, because I've forgotten it.

@Sig you are right. Skynyrd is just like puppies and icecream...

I will smile at a puppy and give it a pat, but not own one.
I will steal a lick of icecream off my kids cone, but probably just order a coffee for myself.
And if Skynyrd is playing I will hum along to the catchy tune...but I wouldn't intentionally own the album.

I'm getting sad faces now! that's worse than angry faces! Alright, alright...here's what I'm going to do. I will listen to a full skynyrd album while working today, with an open mind and then if I have something nice to say I will report back.
