Although I'm almost invariably drawn to the shape and look of straight pipes (Lovats are a particular favorite), I'm slowly coming to realize how wonderful bent pipes are for clenching, especially when you're busy doing other things with your hands.
Here's a chance to post a pic and/or tell us about your favorite jaw hanger. What do you like most about it -- is it the look or is it the comfort, etc.?
I only have one full bent, but I'm thinking of getting a Peterson 221 -- in addition to being a great jaw hanger, it's got that early 1900s look that I really like.

This is my only full (or 3/4) bent. I love the uneven rim on the bowl and the fact that a big portion of the inside of the bowl is stained and polished. Plus, it has a surprisingly small, conical bowl that is great for VAs and Kentucky Dark Fired blends. GL Pease Cumberland and Triple Play are regulars here. Unfortunately, it has a massive fill on the side of the bowl:

I've got a full bent Peterson System pipe. I love that damn pipe. I've had it for maybe 20 years now and it smokes like a dream. I don't know the exact shape or line. It is pretty much the exact same shape as that first pic you have there but it's a system pipe.
I believe this is the shape but it's closer in color to your picture.

It's a close race between a Bari given to me by my late wife's aunt, a bent brandy

in dark grain, and either of my two Peterson B11, one Shannon and one ebony

Killarney, that are either brandies or volcanos depending on the beholder. The

Bari is at least 35 years old and doesn't look a day over ten, and the others are

about four years old and only look better than new. Although I have some others

that are close in the running. I have all degrees of bent and about half my pipes

are straight, so variety is spice here.

Didn't realize that was a LVC pipe, voorhees. Love his movies -- and that pipe. How does it smoke?
fitzy, beautiful pipe (I know the pic's not yours), but I really like the look of the System pipes, but wasn't sure about the internals. Some people love 'em, some don't.
mso489, I love Bari pipes, especially the older ones. I have an old saddle billiard that I just refurbished two days ago. Missed that pipe. Great to have it back.
Thanks for sharing, everyone. Keep 'em coming!

Estella Oom Paul -- had to look that one up. Then remembered it's a Savinelli line. Those are very popular with folks around here.

Pitchfork I've got nothing but good things to say about that pipe. I know recently people have had a lot of complaints about the lower end Petersons. I also know some people like to drill out the plip a bit for a better draw. The only downside is I need to use tapered pipe cleaners to get it through the plip. Although no matter what tobacco I smoke it always smokes very cool.
Plus the curve of that stem just perfectly matches my chin like it was made for it.

Thanks, fitzy. That's good information. Do system pipes come only with the P-lip, though?

One thing I've heard with the lower end Peterson's is that when staining they must dip the whole piece of briar in the stain so I know a few people that end up wiping the inside of the bowl out with alcohol to try and remove that stain. Just need to be careful not to remove the stain from the outside of the bowl. Or you can just smoke it as is and it just takes longer to get broken in I think.

I usually go in for straight or 1/8 bent, but I do have one full bent that I love: My Ukrainian pear-wood volcano,

pitchfork, its a Storient LVC. Love the pipe, it smokes wonderfully. Just don't ask about the Storient part of the story.

I prefer straight pipe, but I have a few bents. It's hard to say which is my favorite, so I'll post a few ofthem.

I have two Dunhill Hungarians that hang real nice and smoke wonderfully. I have a Pete kinsale xl 17 that smokes great. My favorite though is a Pete Sherlock Holmes Baskerville. It is an outstanding pipe.

When I think of full bents: I think of the Oom Paul Shape. My Pioneer African meer is probably my favorite smoker:

The best one to look at is this Barling Guinea grain:

And I like the rustication on this Savinelli Autograph:

The full bent I smoke most often is my Pete XL315

Nearly all my pipes are either straights, or quarter bents. These are the only two full bents I have out of 65. Maybe I should buy more. They're awfully comfortable whilst clenched.
Comoy's Blue Riband full bent.

Nice pipes, guys.
Like those calabashes, Uberam3rica.
Glad we got a few Oom Pauls in here -- the classic jaw hanger.
And kashmir, can't say enough about that Blue Riband. Also, I'm surprised you don't have more bents, especially as an all-day smoker and a self-described clincher. Clearly you need more pipes.
