Great idea. No resto Dr. G's here, but I'll be eager to see what can be done. I'm an admirer of Dr. Grabow Royaltons and I hope one or more of those is included.
I almost got 4, two bents and two straight for 9 bucks, but someone bid it up to over 10! LOL
I did snag another one for 4.95. It has a big chunk out of the stem, so bad they put it on upside down to display. Grin... that will be a challenge in itself. I bought some of the epoxy to repair stems with, so this one will be the test.
There are actually quite a few on ebay for less than 10 bucks.
Some of those old Grabows have some beautiful grain. I've never gotten into restoring. The estates I've bought have all been done already, or simply needed a minor buffing and cleaning. However, this could be worth getting started with.
Yeah, there is no competing with Dave, but here is one I cleaned up and have been pleased with since.
It's a cruddy Starfire I picked up for less than ten bucks. It was covered with years of dirt and mold. I had to rebuild the spade. I'm not claiming any master skills, but I'm happy with the results.

Oh, I like the bulldog. Nice find! The ebay seller cancelled my last pipe I bought, shown above. He must have heard that there is a new demand for the Grabows... :D
So, I snagged a couple more, 15 bucks for two. A bent and a straight. The bent has the spade showing, but I can't tell on the straight.
Looks like there may be some birdseye in the bent.
Thanks for the kind words, Dave. This sounds like fun, but I'll have to join in at a later date if that's okay. I'll try to make it worth the wait though. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of you guys can pull off.
