I haven't found any outrageous surprises yet, but on a couple occasions, I've found pieces of string or twine in my tub.
Tiny little bugs with wings ... that sucks!

I found a lock of hair sandwiched between two flakes of Penzance. Glad I didn't find any other body parts in that tin too.
@woodsroad, and people squawk about the FDA regulating tobacco quality.

Nothing other than the occasional stay dog hair once and a while. I used to complain about it, but after seeing this thread, I consider myself lucky.

I finally just acquired my first tin of Penzance, and there was a great amount of what appears to be paintbrush bristles pressed into several flakes. I contacted the company and they expressed concern but never got back with me, after I gave them the serial number. I wasn't about to let it all go to waste so I sat down for about half an hour one night and removed all the bristles / hairs. Besides this strange issue, i am really pleased with it. It's as good as I wanted it to be.

Damn! You had a tin of Penzance Special Edition with badger hair, and you've ruined it!

Hahaha well perhaps I've ruined the tobacco, but the badger hair tasted great sprinkled over my oatmeal.

Other than the occasional tobacco stem, nothing yet out of the ordinary. The horse stall comment got a chuckle. +1 chasingembers

 I guess the only real odd thing I have found are those white, thin paper shreds in C&D tins.
