What's My Next Tobacco To Try Next?

hi guys,
i thought i would start a thread where guys (not just me) could post what tobaccos they currently enjoy, and find out from those that have been around the block a few times suggestions of what i might like to try next...
there are other tobaccos that i like to smoke as well, but (in no particular order) here's my listing of my favorite tobaccos:

Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky
so my "profile" is strong, bold, lots of flavor, but not at all "pepperie" or will bite.
and (again in no particular order), here's a list of those i've been thinking of trying:
Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Kentucky

Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. - Dark Kentucky

G. L. Pease - Union Square (Fog City Selection)

Peterson - Irish Flake

Cornell & Diehl - Burley Straight

McClelland - No. 2035 Dark Navy Flake

Mac Baren - Navy Mixture
or based on my "profile" would you recommend something else?

Peterson - Irish Flake is a Burley forward flake with a decent nic hit. It packs a naturally sweet flavour, burns evenly and is easy to rub out. I smoke it in a relatively small bowl, Peterson 80s bent bulldog and it works perfect for me. It is often compared with the ODF, so I'm sure you would match your profile perfectly.
Conversely, the Mac Baren - Navy Mixture is a mild smoke with no nicotine to speak of. Tasty, Tasty, Tasty! I do not see it as a match for your profile, however it is an all time favorite of mine and I highly recommend it. The blend has now been discontinued, so you're lucky to have some. Even if you leave this one cellared it ages quite well for an aromatic.

Union Square is a straight Virginia with good flavor, but it is not real strong or bold and needs a little time in the tin to soften a bit in my opinion. I do like it myself though. I would maybe try something like Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake if you are looking for a straight Virginia that's more full flavor and little stronger. Ditto on what was already stated about Irish Flake and I've not smoked the others. I think War Horse Bar (Red) might be a good choice as well based on your current favorites?

Dark Navy Flake can be a handful to prep and smoke, but can be great. I cut thin match stick strips, let them dry nearly completely, and fold and stuff those, and then sprinkle some bits on top of that. If it's fresh, it's just OK, but with some time in the jar it is very good. So, you could smoke some of that now, and then smoke some more in a year or two to compare. ::

Kendal Kentucky is one of my favorites; nutty, woody with a slight sweetness that I really enjoy. Burns cool and smooth even though it's packed with nicotine. If you like burley and don't mind if the flavor is a bit one dimensional then I'm sure you would like it. You could also try Dark Bird's Eye or Kendal Dark, the added virginias give those blends a bit more depth. Maybe Frog on the Town because you like Gaslight.

Anything by GH&Co would do just fine but I would recommend you jump straight into the Dark Bird's Eye. Great blend with a wonderful, robust flavor. So good! The others you mentioned are also great and any one of them would do just fine.

in the stickies i did not read where a member should not ask the Old Farts for specific help about specific tobacco selections. i did read where there are general descriptions of tobaccos and how they're made, but with thousands of tobacco blends and the means of producing them, that information would leave an individual (particularly a newbie, like myself) sadly lacking a starting point. it's as though i am standing before a giant forest (or tobacco field) without a compass and very little direction. so i didn't see anything wrong with asking specific questions of the Old Farts for their knowledge to help someone (particularly a newbie, like myself) down the right path.
if i'm wrong in this understanding of the forum rules, please let me know! i most certainly DO NOT want to break ANY of the forum's rules!
btw, i formed the title of this thread to be in a "general" sense, so that hopefully others can post the same question for themselves and get direction from the Old Farts for their specific likes.
please don'r take me wrong as argumentative! i write this with all respect!

I fixed your title. I haven't been as good about staying on top of titles like I was. I am not going to fix the capitalization in the body of your text. But, it will save you (and us) a lot of grief in the long run if you would at least capitalize the first word of sentences.

BTW, you are moving from latakia blends to a suggestions from a list that has no latakia. Whichever one that you select, keep in mind that you will have to really focus and let your taste buds adjust to the lack of strong flavor, as in the latakia. If you initially don't like one of the blends, set it back, and return to it later. Non-latakia blends are flavorful, but just after smoking latakia, they won't have much taste at all. I hope that helps. ::

Do they hold true to your statement of moving away from Latakia? I read about them in TobaccoReviews and i don't remember reading that they are?
Also, if I find a tobacco that I really like, should I buy a lot if it? It seems in many of the reviews I read that tobacco producers stop making certain blends, and then you are without your favorite blend?
