In recent times, my respites with the pipe have grown infrequent. However, today- after the busyness of Christmas, the house is quiet. The December sun warms my bones, and I enjoy the Country Squire’s Cowboy Coffee in a Ben Wade Danish.

Weather permitting, I've mostly been on a tour of the various English and Balkan blends I've got cellared, alternated with some heavier aromatics. Which is pretty much standard for me at this time of year. Sprinkled in there are some burley-forward blends, and my favorite latakia aromatic, Mac Baren Plumcake. Notable smokes have been Ashton Artisan's Blend, Sutliff Maple Shadows, Mac Baren Burley London Blend, and Drew Estate Meat Pie.

I cracked a tin of Fires on the Levee and have been smoking it almost exclusively. I had pulled a tin of 2017 Christmas Cheer but decided to put it back in to storage. My New Year’s resolution is to limit the number of open tins to a maximum of three this year.
Gave Fires on the Levee a shot tonight in a cob. It does not list a topping or aromatic addition but had an almost marshmallow overtone and reminded me a lot of the Savinelli 145th anniversary blend. The room note was great. I enjoyed it and will revisit one of my other tins later in the year.
Still enjoying 2024 Peretti Thanksgiving Day. Also, some rare House of Calabash blends I recently bought from a member here.
The wife is gone for 2 days to visit her family. I'm babysitting our cat. I'm ecstatic, er, I mean, we'll be just fine, the two of us.
