It’s still around but a pain in the ass to get. For some reason known only to God and STG it’s only sold in the Netherlands. Offhand I forget how I bought it some years ago; either from an online retailer willing to ship to the States or by having it transshipped through a friend in Germany. Either way would have been expensive and inconvenient.

I bought a pouch of this awhile back either in Billings or Spokane because the picture / art on it amused me. I got the sense it had been in the case forever and it was quite inexpensive. Now I wonder how long it had been there exactly, lol. It might have pre-dated STG’s takeover of the world.

Sutliff makes a bulk match that seems okay to me, but I’ve only smoked about an ounce of it. The match is available at Smokingpipes.com

Watch City Cigar was the last place I saw it, pouch version. I’m not sure if/when they’ll get it back in stock.

I used to smoke it in the 70's in a tall boy tin and it was ok. I try it again in the 90's in a pouch and it bite my tongue. Out of my rotation since then.

Thanks. Known only to God answers many questions of long lost tobacco. Maybe it wasn’t that popular to begin with. It was one of those regulars at the convenience store.
I had some Green Sail the other day and my tongue fell off. Years ago that’s all I smoked.

I still have a couple of tins of Troost slices, and it's a blends that I like a lot. But, as @jguss has said, it's no longer available outside of the Netherlands, which is perplexing, as it was quite popular. Sutliff has a Troost match, which I liked a lot, though my last purchase earlier this year, to replace what I had smoked up, was way off. Hopefully that was a one time misfire, but it has put me off ordering any more of it.

Troost Aromatic Cavendish in the pouch is different than Troost Slices. The Sutliff Match was for TAC, not the Slices. A few years ago, STG discontinued a few blends, and TAC was one of them.

I smoked a good deal of Troost Special Cavendish in my youth. It was the first blend that I liked well enough to buy a canister. This must have been in the late 1960s.
