The problem with Sevier County is that most of our restaurants are big chains. Even when someone starts something new, it rarely lasts. But if you're in town and want something unique try these:

Blue Moose - they have delicious wings in a variety of sauces as well as burgers and big hot dogs.

The Roaming Gnome - it's been a couple years since I've been, but they had the best burger around and a nice beer selection. It's a bar, so no kids allowed, but you can smoke (I'm not sure if that includes pipes)

Old Mill Pottery House Cafe - I recommend the grilled club with the chips. Quiche is also quite good in whatever the flavor of the day is.

Bennett's Barbecue - mmmm smoked meats

Bullfish - for steak or seafood

and Smoky Mountain Brewery - try the beer.

When in Durham, in the Duke University area, Vin Rouge on Ninth Street has elegant seafood.

I would: Fisherman's Wharf for crab salad on Boudin Bakery sourdough bread!
Sure, that would work, a Mission style burrito up at one of the dozens of great places, chow fun or smoked pork with rice in Chinatown, cioppino, Rice-a-Roni (Okay, maybe not. Seriously, nobody eats that stuff here!), all great options, but where to begin?!?!?

When in New York/Queens, Roosevelt Avenue is a trip around the world for international dining; just be sure to ask a

local who is in the know which restaurants have the primo chefs when you visit. You could eat on Roosevelt Avenue

every day for a year and not exhaust the possibilities.
When in Paris, you have so many choices it is impossible, but Bofinger's is dependably best of best.

In Manhattan, brunch at the Carlyle Hotel is a pricey treat without taking out a mortgage on dinner.

If it's Tuesday it's Horse Thief Shooters @ the Rusty Horse Saloon! If it's Thursday it's Cervazaritas @ Senior Matia's!...Oh, you said food...well I wouldn't know then.

Las Vegas, NV
Hahahaha, that would be a freakin' novel. Las Vegas has some of the best eateries. I think someone said there's over 5,000 in the valley.
Mexican Food- Frank and Fina's Cocina
Italian- Chicago Joe's or Broadway Pizzeria
Greek- Market Grille Cafe
Indian- India Palace
That's the very abbreviated version, but they're musts if you come to Vegas. None of them are on The Strip and they're all priced very reasonably.

Restaurants aren't the best up here but it's worth heading to Silver Gulch Brewery in Fox for their beer and cheese soup with homemade pretzel. It's all about the game up here. Try the moose, caribou, salmon and crab. Personally I love breakfast sausage made from moose and black bear. Local honey is excellent and Fireweed honey in particular. If you can come up during berry season, that is also worthwhile. If you can, sample the true local cuisine such as Muktuk, stinkhead, polar bear/fermented walrus flipper stew and akutaq (ice cream made from berries and animal fat).

I've been spending a good deal of time in the bay area and have a couple of favorites.
For pizza, Zachary's in Rockridge, North Beach Pizza in North Beach when I want to pick up a slice. There may be better pizza in San Francisco, but I just enjoy North Beach. Zachary's, on the other hand, is hard to beat.
I'm a man of simple pleasures, so Lefty O'Doul's and Tommy's Joynt work for me. For a slightly more upscale surf and turf try Tadich Grill, which is also one of the oldest restaurants in the city. And no visit to the bay area is complete without a pilgrimage to Piedmont to get ice cream at Fenton's Creamery.

Whenever a friend comes down to Homosassa, FL I take'em to The Freezer. It's a dive for sure. A bar and seafood place built in an old Fishing freezer container. They only take cash, but you can buy a pound of fresh shrimp boil for $10. It's absolutely delicious. Fresh from the area shrimp, and homemade cocktail sauce. I wash mine down with a few beers.

I forgot to mention if you are ever in northeast Tennessee you should absolutely search out a Pal's. Get a Big Pal with cheese, a Peachie Tea, and a French Fry and thank me later.
