Sometimes due to mood, chemistry, weather, the pipe I have chosen, what I’m drinking, the planets aligning, etc. I find one or two bowls in a week really hit the spot. It is not always the same tobacco, so it is interesting that while I generally like all the tobaccos in my little stash, I am sometimes surprised at which one rises to the top each week which is that ever bit so extra good.

For me this week it was Squadron Leader with a cup of black coffee. I smoked a few bowls in the midst of other tobaccos this week, and one bowl was particularly in my wheelhouse. It was unusually tasty and lingered for hours. It will keep me coming back for more for sure!

I had a particularly good pipe of Happy Brown Bogey last night with a cup of Prince of Wales hot tea.

It stayed well lit and was just perfectly sweet and even smoking, and I thoroughly enjoyed just sitting on the sofa and zoning out.

Nowhere to go, nothing to do, just a perfect evening with a perfect pipe.

With all the bad news and scary stuff in the world it was pure Zen to just ... be.

A bowl of the old Dunhill Durbar in an unfinished smooth Peterson bent Dublin, but it was a close race, several especially good bowls, including a home mix of Haddo's with unflavored black Cavendish, and some Semois.

Earlier today I had a near perfect bowl of FVF in an unassuming billiard by Karl Erik. I was about to start a thread about nirvana smokes, but then it stopped burning. I don't know why, but I had to relight 500 times during the last third or so of the bowl.
But the flavor stayed perfect all the way, and that is the main thing.

Gawith Hoggarth Brown Flake Liquorice. I don't remember what I smoked it in, but I had the tobacco burning at just the right temperature. And wow, that subtle licorice flavor was terrific. And as a bonus, this tobacco has the best smelling beard/moustache note I've found so far.

Maybe some of my whole leaf home made stoved black red Virginia. Kinda been saving it as I'm running low. Dark fruity tangy and a little hint of that oily stoviness.

Can't remember what pipe. Maybe my clay tavern which I really am liking my Virginias in.

My favorite bowl of the week is almost always Condor Plug in its dedicated Stanwell Trio 88 (boring I know) but it just does it 99.9% of the time (St. Bruno works much the same).
Other than that I’ve been particularly enjoying C&D’s XX Flake in a Colossus Masterpiece. Yummm!

Another surprising one that has just been singing as of late is Match Victorian (puck) in a Bones Dublin.

Great subject for a thread btw!
