Royal Yacht is specifically African and Malaysian Virginias, aged in the armpit of retired sumo wrestlers. Then topped with plums. The plum topping is the essential in the whole process. It gives it a pseudo-perique flavor, which is important for discerning pipe smokers.
I would suggest trying some Full Virginia Flake (or plug) and some St. James Flake (or plug). Both are bursting with flavour from start to finish.
Failing that I would suggest McClelland's #2015 VaPer...the best American blend I have tasted to date.

Jay.

Just got a top secret email from P&C to buy LTF for $1.75 an ounce. I guess I'm going to have to buy a few more pounds to add to my stockpile. How can I pass up on that price?
Someone mentioned Lanes 125th Anniversary, and that is a good blend. There are so many good ones out there. I think there may be more blends that I enjoy than not. I'm not big on heavy aros, nor so much on food-flavored aros, but some blends I shouldn't like, I do.
