What Tobacco for Breaking-in your Expensive Pipes?

I just filled my new pipe with my 'all day blend' and smoked it. For me, it's usually Virginia Gentleman, Three Friars, or Oriental Silk.

I do avoid English blends because I only smoke them occasionally, and I already have a pipe dedicated to them.

Pretty well anything I like and am usually smoking. I find Latakia blends are good because they burn cooler and I've noticed they've brought about some nice cake. But I've broken in expensive pipes with Straight Virginia or whatever else I'm smoking as well.
