Wouldn't it be funny as shit if the pipe tobacco lawyers have already cut a deal with the FDA to leave them alone and the entire tobacapocolpse was just a scam designed for pipe smoker to build huge cellars.

That would be one hell of a smart thing to do. Now with the virus taking front and center maybe they said, we cannot waste out time on those stupid pipe smokers. I would laugh my ass off if that happens. It would not have changed my buying habits at all as I built my cellar to smoke aged tobacco and to make sure none of my favorites were disconnected as 2 already have.

I still don't understand the thought process behind these deeming regs. Why have an arbitrary cut-off date? What's the point of that?
If they were going after flavours then I could understand it. I wouldn't like it but I could understand what they were trying to do.
What happens when a tobacco company pays for a blend to be approved? Is it sent to a lab or something?

I find the whole thing a load of old bollocks and also very confusing.

If all this comes to pass, it’ll be sad for some. However, I’m all good on my end. Sure could I use more...who doesn’t want more! It’ll be fun to see what stands in the wake of the FDA and watch the scrounging take place. There will be plenty of good tobacco for all my friends.?☕

They have a lobby (paid ass kissers to senators/house members) who work to make sure none of this will truly affect the “big boys”. Pipe tobacco isn’t big enough to have any paid lobbyists.

Ironic because so many of previous regulations were a response to all those years of big tobacco deceiving the public.

It's the vaping gear. Prior to the 2007 "arbitrary" date, vape technology was in its infancy.

The best you could find was a "cg-a-like" device. Shaped like a cig, weak battery, terrible "baccy" flavored juice and all but ineffective.

After that time, the R&D and variety in vaping gear hit a critical mass and the market was flooded with lots of new and interesting things in a short period of time.

When this new wave of vape gear began seriously affecting Big Tobacco's bottom line, that's when it became a matter of "interest".

Due to a number of settlements between BT and a bunch of governing bodies, BT's bottom line suddenly became governments' concern.

Complicating matters worse, many recipient governments "cashed in" their annual settlements through lump sum deals with (shady) lenders and now the dwindling profits from BT can't cover everyone's bets.

More "fuzzy math" from our "leaders"... cray

I think maybe he's saying the door is not closing. It's never closing. It only appears to be closing as an incentive to get us to buy more tobacco. And look... it's working!

Is that the blue pill or the red pill? I never remember how the Matrix works.

Vaping is a dangerous game! Look what it did to Peter Griffin. He immediately started sporting a man bun and riding a hoverboard?.

Pardon my ignorance (and being in merry ol' England)..............what is doomsday?

Well the true doomsday was when Clan was released but that's not what they're discussing here.

It's about the US deeming regulations, which could mean a number of tobaccos being consigned to the history books☹️. The whole thing hasn't kicked in yet and is very confusing.
