I've only been using a Pipe for a little over a year. I have only smoked English mix due to my lack of knowledge. English is great and I loved my Presbyterian mix. However I want to branch off into flavor with a great smell that makes me smell good after a smoke and just to please my senses during the smoke. (My soon to be wife loves the smell of tobacco on me.)
I would like something high in sugar, high in taste, low nicotine and something outside of English mix.
Thanks,

Chris

Ain't no such critter. Stale smoke smells like stale smoke.

If she likes what you are smoking now, why change?
something high in sugar,
Do you mean high in natural sugars, or loaded with something sweet smelling?
I'm just confused as to what you are trying to achieve. You say you smoke Presbyterian Mixture, you like it, and your fiancee likes it. Why change? I haz a confused, as they say on the interwebz.

Welcome, Chris. There are so many options you'd never get through them all. There are American/English blends that tend to have burley in them. It would be a good thing to check out the Cornell & Diehl blends. The Virginia blens are also popular and the flakes have legions of fans.

I mostly smoke English style blends but for something different I also like Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream- a Va with a cognac topping. Incredible taste and room note. I also like C&D's Gentleman Caller which reminds me of the original Half&Half due to its use of deer tongue.

For Va blends it is hard to beat McClelland's stuff. I just bought a tin of their Stave Aged Virginia 35 Anniversary blend. Very nice. The Frog Morton series is also great with Frog Morton On The Town being in my current rotation.

I'm sure you'll get many recommendations from the crowd here. Good luck and keep posting.

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you want an aromatic. If so, I can highly recommend:
http://www.vtpipes.com/tobacco.html
Carole, the proprietor, uses the recipes from Wilke's tobacco shop (a shop that was in NYC since the 1800s which she bought and re-located to VT). Many of her blends are downright famous in the pipe smoking world.
As for blends that I've enjoyed:
WILKE RUMCAKE

Originally prepared as the 1993 Christmas blend, Rumcake proved so popular it was made available year round. This Jamaican rum laced blend is based on a mixture originally made for actor Basil Rathbone. This is the finest rum mixture offered anywhere!
BLEEKER ST

An exotic blend of Virginias and a unique Black Cavendish which is mixed with the flavors of honey and nuts, a perfectly balanced combination to provide and a light and rich smoke.
WILKE No. 191

A tobacco for all seasons, the right aroma and the right taste make this my number one selling tobacco! The natural flavors of vanilla beans and Vermont honey are combined with Virginias, matured Kentucky Burley and a combination of 3 toasted Black Cavendishes to create this most popular mild slow burning blend.

Try some VAs and VaPers. Another vote for the McClellands Stave Aged VA 35. Their Black Shag is great, too. I also like MacBaren HH Mature VA, Hearth and Home Louisiana Red and Escudo Navy Deluxe.
For something aromatic, in the flavored sense, there is always Lane 1-Q or give yourself a treat and email Jack Lee Blend for some Halfling's Leaf or his new Yule Pudding! info@jackleeblend.com

Pipe tobacco isn't a perfume or something you wear to attract the ladies. As mentioned above, stale smoke is stale smoke no matter where it comes from. From what you stated you are looking for an overly sweet aromatic. You should look at Altadis, they have a very wide range of tobaccos to choose from.

Mac Baren's Vanilla Cream Flake is a great aro as well as 1Q. Also might wanna checkout Mac Baren's 7 Seas line. A great line of American style aros that smell and taste great.

I would recommend you start looking at Virginia and Virginia/Perique flakes. They are both naturally sweet and provide a whole new word of blends. I would start with these two and see how you like them.
Escudo for Virginia/Perique

Fribourg&Treyer Cut Virginia Plug for Virginia.

You can get sampler packs from various suppliers that will give you a chance to try small portions of several blends without breaking the bank. C&D, H&H, Boswell's, and Iwan Ries come to mind. I would start with C&D because they have an amazing variety of tobaccos. They also have several aromatics with Latakia that might make you and your lady friend happy.

Try C&D Autumn Evening, and Jack Lee Blend Halfling's Leaf. It's not easy finding a good aromatic, and those are both great.
Mac Baren's Vanilla Cream Flake easily has the best room note of any aromatic I've tried. If you want to please the nostrils of non-smokers, that one is the way to go.
