What Shape is this Second Pipe? How does it Work?

If you look at the second pipe of this two pipe set:

Would you call this a horn? A Zulu? It appears to me that the chamber opening will be facing the ground when you smoke it, no?

Or are you supposed to rotate the stem 180 degrees before you smoke it?

The post says Zulu. It is smoked like this, I guess it is more useful when you use it while reclining in your favorite chair. I have a Briar one, not so stretched out. You can smoke it easily.

Ahh - reclining makes more sense, thank you.


Now I'm thinking about what if someone used this pipe while lunting - with the bowl facing forward, turning into an air-scoop that collects the wind as you walk... ember glowing so bright as to light your way on a moonless night.

Yeah, horn. Takes a certain kind of smoker to enjoy that. I am not one of them.

The first pipe is classic tobacco pipe shape while the second one is a meerschaum oil funnel used to refill the crankcase during oil changes. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

The way my pipes hang from my teeth, that pipe definitely won't work for me.
