Nixon smoked a pipe. Dunno what his tobacco of choice was

I believe Nixon had 3 tobaccos in his rotation. "Watergate". "Plumbers Fiasco" and "18 minutes"

When I did dignitary protection for Ford and his family over a day and a half, I saw only straights in his hand. I'd bet he owned more than one pipe. Never close enough to see a stem marking.
