For a few bucks more, you could get a Dr. Grabow Royalton with an acrylic stem, or a Rossi made by Savinelli in a variety of shapes, or a Kaywoodie Saxon if you can track one down, any of which would last you the rest of your life in all likelihood. That pipe is likely made of softer wood, may have some toxic material used in its finish, and may not be well drilled or fitted. I wouldn't buy it, but you might win the bet and get a good pipe, plus shipping.

Absolutley, or a fleet of cobs.

In the MM cob line, I'd go for one of their special edition pipes for about $24 that has an acrylic stem, better than the soft plastic stems on many MM cobs. Cobs can last for decades or longer.
