Enjoyed a variety of fine music at the local Scottish festival today: some well-sung and played traditional Irish and Scottish tunes by Tullamore, bagpipe music by the city's pipe band and even some fine bluegrass by The Squashers. Haggis and chips slathered in curry sauce. Will say the Brits calling fries chips does make more appropriate sense than the American fries.

I've been trying to like Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's new album "So Familiar." I knew that Steve wasn't going to be funny on it, but I keep hoping for some slither of humor somewhere in it. Otherwise, it's ok banjo playing; Edie definitely does a better job musically than Steve, but... for folky bluegrass, it's ok.
