Yea, even more varying when you listen to many of his live versions over the years. He does it “disco” and if you search YouTube for Milan Alcatraz 2011 that one has an intensity I hadn’t heard before.@Bengel
It's been interesting to hear some of these very different versions in the Fragments set. Can't Wait for example...I like these two a lot.
I probably still prefer the album version, but really it's like 3 different songs.
Damn, you're right...I don't know what else you can call it besides Disco Dylan...and Can't Wait of all songs. That makes at least 4 versions then.“Disco” Dylan Can’t Wait
He’s coming to Japan soon. We can’t afford it. It’s weird the kind of music my Vietnamese wife ends up really liking as a truly objective person having grown up at a distance from all western music. Who does she really like? Of course she likes the Beatles a bit. She truly likes Queen, Zeppelin, Bowie sometimes, Jonathan Richman, Tom Waits, and Bob Dylan. I’m not sure why she likes Dylan so much, seeing as how difficult the words are for her to catch and understand. But I think there’s a unique awe-inspiring majesty to Dylan that transcends language somehow. We did watch Scorsese’s doc on Dylan last year and it impressed her and opened her eyes. After it, she really turned to him.“Disco” Dylan Can’t Wait
I love this album. It's rare that I encounter anyone that's even heard of them these days.View attachment 219867
