Hawky that new Mogwai is most excellent. You have much improved my evening smoke with your suggestion. Thanks again for sharing.

Hey Johnbarleycorn... I'm glad you're liking that Mogwai album and good job on the records, I really need to get that Eno album on vinyl! This is a great thread!

I hardly get to my computer to post on this thread and I don't like opening it up on my phone because it takes forever to load.

One of my favorite bands: Sixteen Horsepower; Punk inspired country with a bluegrass twist. This video was directed by the Brother Quay!

Not really a fan of Mumford &Sons but this New Basement Tapes is such a great album and this song in particular. I know it been out for quite a while but I've been really enjoying it lately while smoking my pipe so thought I would share.

hawky454 - I can count on one hand the number of people I've run into over the years who have heard of Sixteen-Horsepower. I've been a fan since the early/mid nineties. I even posted a vid or two here a while back. Bless you sir!

Hell yeah, man! You're right, I don't think I've ever met anyone that's heard of them either, outside of my group of friends. That's a shame because they were truly an amazing band! One of my favorites for sure! Have you followed any Wovenhand's stuff? It's the singers, David Eugene Edwards new project and they're just about to release a new album! Check em out.

<p>I can't believe I have never heard of 16 horsepower. I thought I knew every cool band in existence. But based on the fact that you two both like them I will definitely be exploring them further. Love what you have shared so far.

Named my dog Lilah because of this here song by Morphine.
Used to have a dog named Sheena after a Ramones song and another named Sadie after a Beatles song but never had one named after a Morphine song. Cool name though and a cool song.

I love the newer Ulver stuff but I can also dig the metal albums of theirs... This one goes out to our very own Death-Metal.

What can I say? I love Chan Marshall.
Listening to the Leon Russel posted by Beefeater and a line off the second track reminded me of this...
