Currently listening to Prairie Home Companion, currently hosted by Chris Thile, mandolin player extraordinaire. I've listened to the show faithfully for ~35 years when Garrison Keillor hosted. Right now Sarah Jarosz is singing.
Love PHC, and Garrison. Really love old radio, and PHC is a brilliant blend of the old and just old fashioned, with great humour, but reverence. Listened every time I could for about, yes, 35 years, often taping the show. I have a box filled with cassettes, and I don't mean a cassette box. Have and reread "Lake Wobegone Days", (where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average), and "Leaving Home", hardcover, of course, often.
A lot of great music on this list. I'm a massive John McLaughlin fan. Was listening to "My Goal's Beyond", "Extrapolation", "Inner Mounting Flame", "Visions of the Emerald Beyond", and the live in Central Park album, "Between Nothingness And Eternity" a couple of days ago, after noticing, (and playing), "Love Devotion Surrender" with Mahavishnu and (Devadip) Carlos Santana the day before, whilst looking through albums.
Still not enough, as I just flipped Miles' "Jack Johnson", when John was in the band, few minutes ago.
