I couldn't agree more, johnbarleycorn. I love their compositions. They are deceptively elaborate. I usually connect with blatantly elaborate arrangements and enjoy classical music, but finding that element in modern music with rock & roll energy gets me going every time. Songs with tempo changes and big crescendo climaxes are my jam. Here is a perfect example and perennial favorite of mine. It doesn't hurt that they are from Texas and pull it off live in style. 12 minutes of bliss which transforms into massive energy and scorching solos!

Brian Eno - Ambient 2 the plateaux of mirror with a bowl of dark star in my Radice Apple while reading "a Study in Scarlet" from the complete Sherlock Holmes collection. All this lead to one of the most perfect smokes I can remember.

Nice! I enjoy ambient music and Brian Eno has some really great stuff. I usually queue it up at work to help me stay focused, but considering how relaxing it can be I don't know why I haven't thought of it while smoking. It makes perfect sense now that you mention it!

Brian Eno - Ambient 2

Great album. One of my all time favorite ambient albums is The Pearl by Eno and Budd. Great reading music, great music to fall asleep too. Check out Stars of the Lid, too. They took Eno's ambient ideas and ran with it.

One of my all time favorite bands. Start with the song "Pickled Frogs" and work from there, or just go in order. Last I heard a couple members may be in Austin. I miss them.

Michael Crawfords singing EFX, the Vegas show. It ALWAYS makes me laugh. It's so ridiculous we used to listen to it while trippin' and would laugh uncontrollably for hours on end :)
