New Florida rock band, Gunshine has caught my attention. I didn't think they made rock like this anymore. It doesn't look like these guys have life coaches, nutrition guides, etc. Edgy, like rock musicians used to be.

To celebrate the 99th. anniversary of his birth, here is Louie Bellson, with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, in what is possibly the greatest drum solo in recorded history, "Skin Deep" from Ellington Uptown:

Dino,I think this guy is pretty good. Wow. Louie Bellson must have been scratching his head when the Beach Boys or Beatles became popular.

A video is available on the drum solo, but it is not shareable.

Here is Bellson on the Conan OBrian show, from 1994. The first drummer it seems to use the double-bass drum.

Real Wild Child was the father/daughter song at my oldest daughters wedding. Yeah, that marriage didn't last long.
I didn't know that about Curtis.
Great lyrics - "I'm worth a million dollars in prizes", always makes me smile.
