I'm a huge Knopfler fan. I love the way he turns a phrase and tells a story, even back in the Dire Straight years.

Knopfler is one of the greats. He could play with a mariachi band and create fine music. Though I love the storytelling of his solo career work. But as you said, he's been doing this since the 70s with Dire Straits. Just a brilliant mind and fantastic player

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (acoustic)

The band RIOT EARTH isolated Kurt's vocals, added an acoustic backing track and then married it all together. If you like Nirvana you should check it out. I think it's pretty epic.

Such a great sounding album, one of my audio equipment standard test albums. Like you said, even the CD version sounds incredible.

Grace Jones „Nightclubbing“ is another excellent audiophile recording, worth listening with excellent speakers.

Today I’m listening to Bach. I just bought a Sonos Ray for my tv and it provides great sound. I’m certainly no audiophile, but the bass is clean and tight(no woofiness) and the highs are crisp and clean. Better than my old Bose.
I listen to classical and jazz generally so I don’t need big sound.

Saturday is a day for Art Blakey.

Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers was the first jazz gig of a “real” jazz band I ever listened to in a smaller club in cologne in 1983 or 84 Great experience,

Blakey was energetic explosive and singing his rhythms all over the place. Freddie Hubbard was also in that band. Hadn’t any clue about jazz in those time in my early twenties.

Violin in these days? This one was recorded in 1997.
