Jerry Garcia died on 9 August 1995. Listening to Jerry tunes to mark the date. "In the end there's just a song"

Great live Allman Brothers performance here with more of Derek Trucks' amazing slide guitar work:

I was smoking a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Miniature earlier this evening, at a BBQ, as I had left my pipe at home, and it reminded me of this Ian Anderson classic:

Hilarious Dino LOL:
I know my clothes seem shabby

And don't fit this Hampstead soiree

Where unread copies of Rolling Stone

Well-thumbed Playboys

Decorate the hi-fi stereo record shelves
If you ask me they're on their way

To upper-middle-class oblivion

The stupid twits, they roll their only

One cigarette between them
My small cigar's redundant now

In the haze of smoking pleasure

Call it a day

Get the hell away

Go down to the cafe

For a cup of real tea

Finally got around to watching The Last Waltz again yesterday. I was reminded what a masterful job Scorsese did of not just filming a concert but making a great movie out of it...really enjoyed all of the interview/anecdotes between songs.
The Band is stellar throughout...and what an all-star cast. Probably the main highlight for me was this performance:
