Cedrick is the Grandson of the late R.L. Burnside, one of the creators of the hill country blues sound. Cedrick played drums for R.L. for many years as well. He grew up in Holly Springs Mississippi the Mecca of hill country blues, he has also played with the North Mississippi Allstars (Luther & Cody Dickinson) along with his Uncle Duwayne Burnside. Both the Burnsides and Dickinson families inextricably linked by hill country blues and are both blues aristocracy. If you like Cedrick check out the North Mississippi Allstars. Luther the elder DIckinson brother was also the Guitar player for the Black Crows during Marc Ford's absence.

Cedric is also a really nice guy. He has played here in town a few times. Our amphitheater, walking distance from my house, is a part of an NPR blues circuit that hosts blues concerts each month for 9 moths out of the year.
We also have a local anomaly one city over (about ten miles from my place).

I need to get back to this genre soon........ I just became a Grampa, from my 1st daughter, My second daughter is getting married 4/22, and My third and last daughter is graduating college May 13th..........

Ramsey Lewis is also a favorite of mine. I saw him live quite a few times at the old Chicago jazz club The London House.
