Almost forgot Today is the 101st birthday of am American Original: Charles Mingus 4/22/1922 to 1/5/1979.
I don't know if I posted this before (probably) but I was listening to this again last night, and I still think it is one of the best performances of this piece ever. The way he plays the organ and the cathedral as a single instrument is mesmerizing.
