I noticed that he doesn't have to hold it near the flame just to keep the butane flowing. What brand?

It's called an "Old Boy"

Ahhh, so that's an Old Boy. I did not see how it was first lit. And is there a lock that you activate to keep the butane flowing without (obviously) holding down some lever for that?

The thing I like about the Old Boy is that you DON'T have to hold anything down to keep the flame lit. You flip up the cap, roll the striking wheel and it stays lit until you flip the cap down.

Old Boy lighters are a bit pricey, but I love mine (a gift from a friend). Highly recommended.

Xikar makes an Old boy clone that has worked well for me for over a year now and carries a lifetime warranty to boot. And i picked it up for like 45 bucks to so its cheaper than the old boy to.
