G&H Dark Plug seems the most consistently strong to me. Their twists and ropes vary more from one smoke to the next IME.

I love the taste of G&H Kendal Kentucky but it is too strong for me to smoke regularly. But man, it tastes so good.
Yeah, i bought several ounces of KK to roll cigarettes with back in the day, and even rolled with filter tips, it was just intensely strong. I went running back to D&R Ryback and Stokkebye Amsterdam Shag.

Whoa! Are these commercially available in the U.S.? I've had cigars with Arapiraca wrappers and enjoyed them quite a bit.

Dark Flake Scented for me, more so than Brown Bogie or Black Irish X.
Some random blends that are supposed to be medium get me sometimes. Bayou Morning is one of them...maybe it's all that perique. Then again Bayou Night doesn't kick my ass...maybe the latakia balances it out for me.

Cotton Boll twist! I got to about 12 puffs...(never again).

5 brothers (I may have finished a bowl, but probably cut it with something to do so).

The ropes, brown and black are too much for me, black I will add a sliver to a bowl to bump up another blend.
After the ropes, petersons 3ps and irish flake are probably the stronger end of things I have smoked.

The Brazilian ropes are only available in Brazil. I bought them at the Meracdo Central in my daughter-in-law's hometown, Belo Horizonte.

I may go there for Christmas with my sons, daughter-in-law, & soon to make his worldy debut, my first grandchild, Viktor. I hope to send or bring back more ropes.
My first small bowl of Arapiraca Castanho Super Forte induced an irresistible midday nap. No dizziness, palpitations, sweats, headache, nausea or indigestion, or nic-hiccups. Powerful stuff.

The original War Horse Bar from the 1970s is probably the strongest nicotine hit in my tobacco collection and thankfully I have a quite a few plugs in stock still!

Cossackjack may have a better explanation, but as far as I know it is a black/cigar leaf type of leaf, commonly used as a wrapper for cigars. Usually, maduro shades are used, but not always (e.g. the Crowned Heads J.D. Howard line. Used in that manner, I find it sweet and creamy, and a touch floral as well. Apparently, it is also prepared and smoked as a pipe tobacco as well, but I have no experience with it like that.

It's a location: Arapiraca: The Tobacco Capital of Brazil
It's also the name of the vendor in the Mercado Central, Tabacaria Arapiraca, therefore it is also the brand name of the rope tobaccos.

For me it would be: Five Brothers, Picayune, GH Brown Bogie and probably Tabac Manil: La Brumeuse.

mityahicks cigars can be strong, but in my experience some pipe tobaccos can be bombs.

Interesting re: pipes vs cigars in strength. I ore often feel the effects of nicotine with pipes than cigars. I suspect that I just puff so much more on a pipe that the extra exposure makes up a big part of the difference. Like, I am pretty disciplined in terms of puffing cigars every 60-100 seconds or so. With a pipe, I am puffing a lot more often. Granted the smoke volume tends to be more with a cigar. Hmmm... Maybe I should try smoking a bowl of pure cigar leaf to experiment.

Besides the sample of War Horse Bar that Ashdigger so generously gifted me, the second strongest tobacco I have run into was G&H Dark Plug unscented...knocks my socks off every time...followed up by 5 Brothers.
