What Is Your Favourite Room Note ?

Of course it's not as important as the smoke itself, but it does extend the pleasure of the experience.
For me it's Capstan Navy Cut ready rubbed. When I go back into my room it smells as though ten people have been in there smoking roll-ups, and as an ex cigarette smoker I find that honest, straightforward, comforting, and relaxing. That's preferable to me than having the room smell like a pretentious professor's study.

I use that last phrase as a figure of speech only, and sincerely apologise to any pretentious professors who may be viewing this thread. ?

I’ve found that aromatics initially smell good in a room, but a few hours after smoking, smells more like ass than whatever fruity blend I was smoking. My wife prefers the room note of Virginias and VaPers.
To us it is just the smell of home.

I smoke outside, but occasionally I will smoke in the garage and I like the smell of Straight Virginias or Va/Pers. However, I really do like the room note of C&D's Eight State Burley. And it's the only blend that my wife has had anything pleasant to say about. So take that for what it's worth.

I remember my first experience smoking a large quantity of Germain's Brown Flake in my living room over what was a particularly long study period during a hot and wet autumn. But it's not a typical Virginia flake.

Upon my return, the smoke had settled into the fabric and furniture with a heavy, stale and clammy odour. Although it transported me back in time to the days of packed dingy pubs (the kinds with textured wallpaper, brass horseshoes, few windows and slightly sticky carpets); I wasn't the fondest of it, and I only smoke that blend outside, or with the window cracked open.

Latakia heavy blends or oriental forward tobacco (I smoke a lot of) tend to leave a bit of what I imagine is a "pretentious professor" odour. I don't mind it, as it has a bit of incense to it.

Though; my favourite room note would probably be a simple Virginia or Vaper blend. Capstan Blue, De Luxe Navy Rolls, and Mac Baren's Plum Cake or Vanilla Rollcake are all blends that I find leave a pleasant room note.

Some Lakeland blends with Kentucky can leave a bit of an "eau de burning tyre".

Some admittedly smells worse that others, but I have never smoked anything that would sell well as a air freshener.

ODF certainly has room note, nobody would argue with that. Not tried Yenidje, though heard a lot about it from you guys, never seen it here.
In the UK we are all up to our eyeballs in rules and regs. Daren't move a muscle or say boo to a goose.

It's a question for philosophers: Can a smoker truly experience the room note he produces?
Well I don't. My wife smokes Amphora Full Aroma and I sure like the smell of that. One day she couldn't find her tobacco jar she stole some of my Hal o' The Wynd. Smelled great too.
While not technically a room note, I passed a pipe smoker on the street some time ago. I did not like his street note. Too much vanilla.
I guess my answer is Amphora Full Aroma.

I smoke outside out of choice, but plan to eventually have some kind of nicely ventilated pipe/cigar lounge shed out back at some point.

Room note is nice, but also pretty transient, it's there for a little while and then turns into something that's not much of an improvement over unwashed socks and lingering farts. If I want room note, I'll bake cookies, put out some potpourri, or get one of those Glade plug-in smellemgood whatsit dingus thingies that smell like berries and freshly washed underpants instead.

To be exact, they are: 15 centimeters, I ned 70% room note. Calculate badly at the start.....sorry........

Pipe smokers have a hard time assessing room notes, I think, because they like the taste and smell of tobacco. I'd guess for non-pipe-smokers some of the milder aromatics smell best while being smoked. When the pipe goes out and the smell lingers, few blends smell all that great, I'm afraid. I think vanilla, caramel, and a few of the liqueur, rum, and whiskey blends might win with non-pipe-smokers.

I smoke outside, unless it’s freezing, then I crack the slider. That’s said, there is seldom a lingering room note. On those rare occasions any vanilla and/or cherry aromatic blends smell nice, and are generally favored to those around me
