What is Your Favorite Shape?

Just curious, exactly what connotations did a straight pipe have?

I wasn't into straight stems either when I got into pipes In the early 1990's. The few pipe smokers I knew at the time mainly a couple older uncles smoked plain looking straight billiards. Of course as a young man I had to be different and got a bent. Could it be that straight stem pipes were just more common in the 50's 60's 70's? I notice a lot of the younger guys today are smoking bent shapes. That age old instinct to rebel?

Smoking a pipe is already kind of rebellious so to me a straight pipe is just badass where as a bent is slightly more old man maybe :roll: People in public dig the pipe though, it's different. My straight is a short lovat about 4.5" it's my favorite pipe. The one from my stripping naked thread.

Chubby Rhodesian with a tapered stem. Group 5 in size. A recent Jimmy Craig Ashton fit that bill and I just acquired a Digby version of the GBD 9242, my perfect shape. Waiting for USPS to delivery it.....

I prefer classic shapes. Most of my pipes are billiards followed by bulldogs and bents. I have some freehand's bu rarely smoke them as they are a bit unwieldy for me.

+1 for the bent apple, most of my pipes are some derivation of them.
