When it comes to the Conan the Barbarian "What is best in life" type of questions, pipe/cigar smoking is one of them :: .
Now to the question. My favorite part of pipe smoking is that it gives me an opportunity to relax, unwind, and think in my own time. But what saddens me most is that (if this is normal or not) I can't smell the aroma or taste it but do so with the cigars I smoke .

I am pretty green at this hobby, but I can see myself also enjoying restoring and clean pipes.

Oooo this is a toughy. I love bing able, like so many said to sit down and take teh time, But I really like bringing a dingy pipe back to life, and when my wife "loves" the room notes. Ha!

I like the ritual of packing, tamping, and lighting, combined with that bit of a nick kick. It helps me to do something with my hands and concentrate on the task at hand and not think about the people at work that piss me off and make me want to take a sledgehammer and start swinging. :mrgreen: In all honesty, the pipe for me is something that I can be engaged in so that I can forget about the worries of daily life and just sit and do something relaxing for a while. On a side note, a pipe full of good tobacco with a tall glass of cold lemonade after a hot shower accompanied by some good TV? 8O :worship: Life doesn't get better than that.
