Most members (and all the mods) here are great, but there are a handful of self-righteous, condescending, holier-than-thou old-timers that team up and troll for attention or to shut up another member- and they usually get away with it.

I think that some of us are friends, and some I don't know very well, because I don't post in the same types of threads that they do. I have seen group pile-ons, but that doesn't happen very often, because we mods tend to close them down, sometimes anticipating a pile on. It happens, but I would not say that it is a typical thing on the PM forums. It is rare that we have more than one moderation to make in a week, and sometimes it is weeks between moderations (besides just fixing a capitalization or housekeeping stuff). And, that is because we have a classy group of guys here. Pat yourselves on the backs, because you guys are what makes this an awesome place.

Having a small clique that gangs up on people is something I have not seen on this site. If anyone wants to pm me and show me who is doing it, I would be more than happy to get the 6 out of retirement and squash this group like the maggotty bugs that they are. The 6 is omnipotent.

"Pile-ons"? They occur when only when required and to resist the impulse is futile. What "self-righteous, condescending, holier-than-thou old-timer" can resist the siren's call. Any self-respecting "self-righteous, condescending, holier-than-thou old-timer" must snuggle up to the keyboard and go to work when an opening presents itself.
I hope to become an "old-timer" in time. I've only just arrived at four years membership. At what point is one considered an "old-timer?" I've got the "self-righteous, condescending and holier-than-though" part down pat. I think I do anyway.

Warren, no offense meant, but as I contemplated those comments, I thought of you. You are quick to assert your opinion and discount an opinion with which you don't agree. But I don't ever see it as condescending. You are also quick to explain why you are of a particular opinion, and I've learned a lot from you without ever having to acknowledge it.

Well, I have already said that any pile-ons would have most likely been deleted or closed.
Quint was just making an observation. I can confirm that it does happen, just not very often. You guys are starting to prove his point, so I will just close this one to keep it from actually happening.
Quint is a good guy, and just made an observation. I don't think he was (I hope he wasn't) insinuating that it is status quo here.
