What is this?

Tenants of mine left this behind when they moved. I cleaned it up and have been smoking it the last few days. I know nothing about it but I am guessing it is ebony. It smokes quite nicely and I like the way it feels in my hand, it is quite a heavy pipe. Anyone see these before?

Looks like a briar pipe with either an ebonite or acrylic stem. What is stamped on it?

sablebrush52 your not going to believe this. I never even thought about the stamp until you mentioned it. I just turned the pipe over and on the bottom of the shank it is marked fu teng 679. It is a damn chinese pipe. I was really hoping I had something special but nope. Anyway I got it for nothing and it is a good smoker for what it is. I like it better than my morta Mr. Brog which is one of the more expensive Mr. Brog pipes but that is probably not saying much.
