What Is Stocklow Syndrome?
Stocklow syndrome isn't a psychological diagnosis. Instead, it's a way of understanding the emotional response some people have toward a blend or a blender. It happens to some pipe smokers and tobacco users when they have positive feelings toward a blend or a blender that is low on, or going out of stock of a blend.
Sometimes, people who are cellaring or are subject to use can have feelings of reverence or other positive feelings toward the blend. This seems to happen over days, weeks, months, or years of cellaring and close contact to the blend.
A bond can grow between the victim and the blend. This can lead to kind treatment and less harshness from the tobacco as they might also create a positive bond with their users.
Someone who has Stocklow syndrome might have confusing feelings toward the blend, including:
Love
Sympathy
Empathy
Desire to protect them
Stocklow syndrome might also cause the pipe smoker to have negative feelings toward the distributors or anyone who might attempt a match blend.
