Had a bowl tonight and while it was smoked, it was quite sweet and not typical of an
in your face' blend. I think I prefer the NewMinster Light Burley I had the other night compared to this. It just seems a bit cloying in certain spots throughout the bowl. However, it still has a great flavor but the burley I like needs a bit more grunt to it.

It reminds me of Solani ABF but a lighter version of that. ABF I find is sweet too but has a strong burley flavor and the top note isn't as pronounced as GE.

Wish I'd bought a pound while I had the chance but glad that I managed to order 2 x 100g tins.
There's one tin left in the 'cellar'.
It's one of those blends that I could happily smoke day in day out.

I think of it as the lightest of the MacB burleys I've tried, in order of strength/richness (as I perceive it): GE, Symphony, Amphora Burley, London. I like it a lot, but I'm usually looking for a little more oomph. It's dirt cheap in bulk, so certainly worth a try.

Mac Baren know their Burleys. You can't go wrong with Golden Extra. Symphony is also an interesting blend, from what I remember.
