What is a luxury blend tobacco ?

I hear the term "luxury" used now and then, even in the name of some blends.

Is this just an exercise is semantics, or is there a definition of luxury blend?

After all, it seems that tobacco in and of itself is a matter of luxury.
Is there really a distinction between a "regular" blend and a "luxury" blend, or was this invented by a marketing group? Does this pertain to the price of the tobacco?
If there is really by definition a luxury blend, than what is the most luxurious blends you have smoked?

I believe "luxury" denoted the presence of exotic and expensive leaf in the blend. The term has been around for many years, usually associated with the costlier blends years ago. That's my recollection.

I figured as much, but thought it might cover certain leaf or certain cut of tobacco.

I associate it with English blends containing Turkish leaf.
Oddly, I don't believe I have ever seen the reference to American style blends as luxury. Not that it matters.

I believe that LUX is Latin for light....So Luxury would be the Latin version of BLING!

For me it's any blend that tastes good!
