Assuming he ever finishes it. At this point, it looks as though the tv show will be going its own way and wrapping oh long before the last volume is published. I'm not as excited by the prospect of more books in the series as I want to be, though. The first three were so good they were actually comparable to Tokien's best, but if feel that Martin ended up losing control of the story as well as his focus. They have way too much filler now, and far too much space is devoted to characters and subplots that don't move the story forward (compared to the first three, which were masterpieces of careful plotting and character development).
