Key Lime trees are everywhere

I have to say, of all citrus fruits, the lime (from wheresoever it hails) is my favourite, particularly in lime pickle, that stuff I could eat with most dishes.

As I said, Key Limes are ubiquitous. More in Mexico than the Keys could ever support.
You don't have to be in the Keys to have real Key Lime pie. I earlier agreed with you that some places may serve it under false ingredients. And the real thing is delicious.

Being a native Floridian, I'll equate it to Cuban tobacco leaves, everyone says they grow them but it's where they are grown that matters! Hurumph!

I'll concede that eating Key Lime pie in the Florida Keys is sublime. And terroir matters!

People love complaining about current times (not without reason) but one thing that amazes me now is how much access we have to variety in our restaurants. I have eaten so many dishes I had never heard of and all in this tiny little area. Even here it's becoming anything if you can afford it.
And not too long ago Italian (not Pizza though) was exotic.

The fury of it all, slowed down drastically during the early Covid Years, but now it's all back and going crazy again. I can point you to at least a half a dozen malls, I'm not talking Casinos, I'm talking old fashion strip malls throughout the valley with 30/40 store fronts in them, and 60%/70% of them are restaurants!

Beef (cause not all those cattle are dariy...)
South Shore Brewery (especially Nut Brown)
Copper Crow distillery (2 miles from my house!)

Cranberries (the bogs make more than mosquitoes, whod'a thought)

Yes, you are correct. I believe the candies they make are unbeatable. Everything they make just seems to be a touch over the competition. I also love the Cherry Cordials. Sadly, it's only about a ten-minute ride from my home to their location!

I knew Mate would be one of the pictures, but not with lunch or dinner. I had some friends long ago from Argentina, they gave me a Mate set from Cordoba. We did drink a lot of Mate.
