Not so much a baker that is the wife's deal

Baking is actually my favorite. I've always had a sweet tooth. I'm really skinny but I eat like I'm fat. They say "Never trust a skinny chef". I say never trust a fat chef. Because obviously the fat chef eats everything he/she see, whereas the skinny chef only eats waht is worth eating.
Hobie I saw the picture before I read your post, and I thought you were gonna say you collect women. Then I read it and saw you said you collect pictures of women. I also collect trinkets. Just little things that don't have much value but I think are cool. I've got a little bobble head I got out of a cereal box, a shark in a jar, an alligator head. Just junk really.

You must have had a great super bowl party, Russ.

Yes, it is looked forward to every year. Super Bowl Sunday in my house is just as big as Christmas and Thanksgiving. Always take that Friday and Monday off. This year was even better because of my beloved G-Men. Actually had to call out sick on Tuesday because the house was still not back in order. 8O

I used to collect Corgi diecast models 1:50... anything military (planes, tanks, jeeps etc). My favorite was their WWII series. Very well done. I always dreamed of having a room or large enough office to set up a diorama and display cabinet for my collection. Then, a buddy of mine got me into target shooting. Needless to say, I sold my collection to fund my new hobby. It is definitely more fun, but also more expensive. Good exercise too. At least that's what my wife has been told. I try to avaoid model train shops. Those "N" gauge trains keep calling my name.
Hey Zanthal,

Beautiful stones! Have you ever polished a "petoskey" stone from northern Michigan?

Knifes, any type really if it catches my eye. I have antique knifes, army knifes, a military dress sword, and even a circular one with about 8 blades that fold out all around it!! I will need to post a pic of it.

+1 to all the gun collectors (especially regarding 1911s), they're my passion, though mine all technically belong to my father. I know that hobby will end up consuming my money in the future. I'm also one of those weird individuals who keeps ALL of his cigar bands, and I keep tobacco tins around, most of them as decor, some for storing small knicknacks and supplies. Oh, and any shell casing of a caliber I don't already have an example of. Just pick 'em up at the range.

I collect BSA patches and my oldest ones date to the early 1930's. That's not very old by briar standards, but most of the patches back then were made of felt and moths love that stuff.
I also covet first editions by James Jones - the WWII author, not the asshole who coerced people into drinking the Guyanan Kool-Aid.
Pocketknives, too. Nothing of value though. Just blades I've gathered through the years.

I collected stamps with my father in the early years, and got into gold coins in the 80’s. They’re all gone now. I do collect movies on my computer, but that doesn’t count. So now I’m really not collecting, but storing/ageing tobacco, which when it becomes crazy will move on to pipes.

I mostly collect dust also...according to my wife. My only collection is a dozen pipes that are almost as old as I am. I used to work in a pipe shop while in college in 1961 and had the good fortune to have a master blender/pipe repair mechanic teach me the fundamentals of quality pipes. I restricted myself to Comoy since they were the premier pipe maker at the time (wasn't impressed with Dunhill at the time). Lucky enough to pick up a selected straight grain "SECOND" from the Comoy Rep who was visiting the US at the time. Purchased a nice medium sized calabash and a lion head meerschaum with a real amber bit. Then they sat for 40 years...maturing nicely unlike myself.

I can't seem to stop buying knives, use em all but if I see a nice one I gotta have it. Also camping gear, canoe paddles (wooden only), and antiques. Especially cast iron and wood antiques. Also maps.

Some interesting collections in the thread so far. Other than briar and tobacco I love to collect skulls. It started when I was a kid and we used to go walking on the Moors a lot. I picked up sheep, rabbit, dog and a few other skulls - took them home and cleaned them up. Now I focus on human skulls. Not real ones I hasten to add! But I have a few nice film prop skulls which help create the mood at Halloween.
I'm also a bit of a geek when it comes to early American space travel. Everything from Explorer 1, the first US Satellite to 1975 when the last Apollo module was used to dock with the Russians. I've many books, models and several complete Apollo missions on DVD. My pet hate is people who say the whole thing was faked as they are undermining the bravery of the astronauts who set off to explore the unknown.

I have a small collection of desks. A blue 1950's with 4 drawers from my brother when he saw me typing on the floor pf my bedroom when we were teens. An1880's small slant top my mom gave me becauae it looks a lot like one Poe used in his Baltimore home. And my first furniture purchase ever, a secretary made in 1886 with a flame front. It's only had 3 owners. That's the one I use most although I love all of them.

I have been selling lately more than buying...I collect 16mm films. And sometimes river gold when I get out to find it.
