What do you think of new Comoy's/what pipe should I buy

I don't need a new pipe...the three I have are doing fine in rotation considering I only get one opportunity a day to smoke. But...
I recently saw a pipe I am rather quickly becoming infatuated with, a Comoy's Traditional 80 (bulldog). Most of what I have seen on here regarding Comoy's regards pipes of a different era. Anyone have strong opinions one way or another on Comoy's current offerings? I didn't like the bulldog shape until I saw this one, and was drawn to it for its larger bowl size for a bulldog. Does anyone have a pipe they'd recommend over the linked offering that is similar in characteristic?

I like that pipe. I have a few new production Comoy 87s including a Blue Riband. I like them a lot. I bet you will be happy with that # 80 Bulldog.

The pipe looks really nice, but If you're going for that shape, I'd prefer a Peterson Sherlock Holmes Baker street, it is in the same shape and it has a lot of variations (Smooth/Rustic/Ebony,...) and it has a nice silver band with Sherlock stamp on it :puffpipe: so I think you may want to check that out.. And if it is out of your budget, there is the Peterson Irish Harp.. I dunno, I think they look better than Comoy's

I don't own a new Comoy's so I can't comment on them, but it's a bulldog with a vulcanite stem and good measurements. I would pull the trigger if I were you.

A friend of mine bought a new bulldog and loves it. I certainly think it's worth the gamble.

Those new Comoys are all over Ebay, at some pretty good prices. I've handled a few and in the $80 range, they are a good feeling pipe.

They were an old guarde Brit pipe but now have moved back to France, right? I can't remember who, but one Forums member gave very negative comments on the relocated product output, but he didn't elaborate on what his experience had been. Did he get a real clunker? Did he just dislike the relocation? They're nice looking pipes, and reasonably priced, so you aren't making a big gamble. But I haven't heard any rave notices either. They look fine.

Take a look at a Stanwell #32 for a similar shape

I second captpat. I own two Stanwell 32's and really love 'em. Small, light, plenty of bowl, snappy design, great price (shop pipesandcigars.com).

The Stanwell 32 has a great price point. That complicates my decision making even more than Ahmad Othman did with is suggestion to check out the Peterson line-up.
With the Petersons, I like the Kinsale (smooth XL13, based off the Baker Street design) even better than the Sherlock Holmes Baker Street set, with its subtle band and a not-overly-glossy finish.

michiganlover I nearly missed your post. Checked out the Comoy's on piperestorer.com, and then started looking at some of the restored pipes on there. I had the Comoy's 80 and two other pipes in my cart ready to check out when I discovered the address form on there doesn't have the FPO "states" (AP, AE, AA) as an option. I've sent the site a note asking about that. It has put the breaks on a newly developing PAD, at least temporarily. How are the restored pipes from there? It will be my first purchase of an other-than-new pipe.
